UValue: upcycle water, reduce impact

Water and energy are inseparably linked. Municipalities and businesses can save money by reducing wastewater and upcycle water streams. UV Technology has a long track record in the production of potable water.

UValue creation

We share best practices on how UV as an extra step in the water treatment process, can add value in 3 value streams:

Reduce water footprint

Reduce wastewater, reuse process water, upcycle water for other applications.

Reduce environmental impact

Reduce materials and waste per treated m3 water.

Save energy

Optimize processes by saving energy and reduce energy consumption per treated m3 water.

UValue water. Fresh water is becoming scarce.

Pollutants are becoming more complex. As a result, multiple steps are increasingly needed to treat water. Collaboration is essential for a healthy, circular water chain. Together, we work towards a sustainable water chain by assigning true value to water. That is our mission and the reason we foster collaboration within an alliance.

UVoice: sharing is caring

We tell an honest story about UV technology. We indicate where, how, and when it significantly contributes realizing sustainable water processes, reducing your environmental impact and facilitating business growth.

The UV-Alliance is organized in a Community and a Foundation. The UV Alliance is supported and driven by a diverse group of progressive people and organizations who, in the public interest, aim to make a positive impact on sustainable water treatment. We are guided by a shared manifesto.

1

We create expert papers in which we share how UV can create value in specific sectors.

2

We give clear definitions and speak with one UV-language.

3

We share best practises, insights and case studies, validating findings and comparing them with other existing technologies.

Cases

By sharing best practises we showcase how UV technology can add value to water in specific applications, such as swimming pools, wastewater treatment and aquaculture.

Prevent diseases on banana plantations through UV treated irrigation water

UV-C treated irrigation water

Banana crops increasingly suffer losses from resistant Fusarium Wilt (TR4) and Moko disease. Treating irrigation water with UV prevents plantation infection—without using pesticides and chemicals.
Water Efteling

Efteling theme park

At Efteling theme park, effluent water from the wastewater treatment plant is reused as an alternative to pumping fresh ground water. This reduces water consumption and minimizes environmental impact.
Swimming pool De Kuilart

Swimming pool De Kuilart

Installing a UV system significantly reduced water and energy costs. Additionally, it created a more enjoyable swimming environment and improved comfort for staff due to demonstrably better water and air quality.

UVCommunity

We connect people that have UV knowledge or want to know more about the practical use case of UV water treatment. It’s open to everyone who has interest in UV. We organize digital meetings and share our insights.
