Arjan, 55 years young and based in Schijndel in the south of the Netherlands, has been active in the UV-C industry since 2012 as Managing Director of VGE BV.
With brands like VGE Pro, Blue Lagoon, and Xclear, VGE BV operates across a wide range of sectors, such as swimming pools and ponds, aquaculture, horticulture, and beyond. Together with a team of around 40 people, they manage the full process in-house, from R&D to assembly and logistics.
Through his involvement in the UV Alliance, Arjan is driven to tell the right story about UV-C and help promote this powerful and often underappreciated technology.
In modern horticulture, reusing drain water helps reduce water consumption and limit environmental emissions. UV disinfection provides a reliable way to treat drain water before reuse by inactivating microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi and moulds.
Banana crops increasingly suffer losses from resistant Fusarium Wilt (TR4) and Moko disease. Treating irrigation water with UV prevents plantation infection—without using pesticides and chemicals.
